Bonjour bonjour!

-

I'm home in France!!!

Hence the lack of updates here...
but my plan is to update Twitter once a day
to tell you uninteresting stuff
like what I ate, what I drank etc etc...

The good news is
(drum roll)
I'll have a very exciting give-away
once I'm back in Norway...
Stay tuned!

Through The Looking Glass

-

Once upon a time, I bought three kaleidoscopes,
one for Diana, one for Carly
and of course one for myself.

And here's a little video I did a longlong time ago
and finally edited a few days ago.

Original idea found here.

---

Quick update for those of you wondering:

It's actually very simple: I shot this video with my digital camera, holding the kaleidoscope against the lens with one hand, holding the camera with the other hand. I can't remember which hand had the responsability of turning the kaleidoscope around but as you can see, it's all very home-made. I had a candle on the other side of the kaleidoscope to make sure there was enough light and then I used iMovie to edit the whole thing (basically adding a title and music, thrilling ain't it?).

Here's another video I did this winter - you know... if you're so inclined...

Oktomat

-

I seem to be having a hard time taming my Oktomat camera.
Aperture, framing... it feels like I got it all wrong.
Hopefully my second roll will be better.
Full set here.

A Photographic Diary: Katrina

-

A resounding YES. A thousand times YES. Yes yes yes! I love to take photos, or snapshots, as I like to call mine. Taking a picture is a way to capture a bit little of time and make it stand still. Looking at old photos, I'm always amazed to see changes and even more, I'm surprised to see all the things that don't change.

Katrina is a real inspiration.
Not only does she take beautiful photos
but she also creates some awesome tutorials
Her blog Pugly Pixel has become one of my favourite ones
and she also has a very cute (hence dangerous) Etsy shop.
Now go spread some love!

A Photographic Diary: Carly

-

Why do you take photos?

I take photos to document my life.
To remember.
I love the archival art of photography.
Photos can stand the test of time and retell a story again and again.

Photos can be humorous or photos can be sad. But they always have a story to tell from the past.

Recently in my basement we found tons of old photos from when my gramma and grampa, uncles and mama were young. I am a sucker for old photos especially when they are so dear to my heart.

My fave is Carly's Tumblr: The Year I Turned 21.
I'm amazed to see every day how resourceful this young lady is.
