ReplyDeletewow, so pretty! such a clever idea. i'm looking around my flat trying to find things which might need similar treatment :)
ReplyDelete... very very nice! Do you want to give us your photo for our Gallery? You can find it at our german-side: www.mt-maskingtape.com. Would be nice! And we could put it on facebook, too.
ReplyDeleteKerstin
This is so cool.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of tape did you use
ReplyDeleteJapanese Washi Masking Tape :)
DeleteI have a small IKEA kids table that needs some spicing up. This is perfect! Where can I find the wide Japanese washi masking tape that you used? I found some on Etsy but a lot of them look delicate and narrow (for crafts). I'd love to get a bunch of different colored rolls like yours and not have to spend too much money.
ReplyDeleteMine aren't wide, there's the kind you use for crafting. I got them from Cute Tape:

what did you do with the legs of the table? WOuld you mind posting a picture please?
ReplyDeleteI left the legs white :)
DeleteI think this is a cute=) If you enjoy interesting art ideas come visit my blog at http://aleksandraromashko.com
ReplyDeletehave a good day!
Thanks! Will do :)
DeleteI would say that you could do the same sort of thing with colored duct tape. They have lots of different colors and the rolls are close to 2in wide.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely an alternative but that wouldn't be easy to remove at all.
DeleteHow fun is this! I love it! I've never heard of that tape before- I'm going to check it out. Your newest follower
ReplyDeleteThanks Janny! <3
Deletemy son is moving out in a month - and now i have the perfect way of creating little color splashes around - and also spiff up some old boxes! The Ikea table is the same he will get...*L*...awesome idea!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteWhere did you buy your washi from?? LOVE the colors!!
ReplyDeleteI got them from Cute Tape:

ReplyDeleteAwesome & cute love the new washi tape : ) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU for visiting! :)
Deletebut what if you spill something on this? wouldnt you have to replace the tape? :/
ReplyDeleteNope, the washy tape is quite resistant, you can easily clean it :)

Awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteHello Adeline,
ReplyDeleteDo you remember which colours you used by any chance?
You might still have an online receipt for your purchase somewhere? :p
Cheers,
Julie
Hello Julie!
DeleteHere's the set I used: http://www.cutetape.com/shop/japanese-washi-tape-single-rainbow-light-color.html
Cheerios! :)
Sorry Adeline I meant which exact colours. I've looked at the website and I'm not sure which ones you picked: pink, peach, custard, bottle green, ....? From your pic I can guess a few but not all and I'd like to inspire myself from your choice :-)
DeleteMerci d'avance!
I have the whole set and used every colour except for three: dark green, green yellow and indigo. There are nine different colours.
DeleteThank you! Didn't realize you had used so many :-)
DeleteThis seriously is the most amazing DIY! That table looks absolutely amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat did you do with the other sides of the table? Did you leave them white? or did you put tape on it too?
ReplyDeleteI left the legs white :)
Deletedid you leave the table alone or add a coat of poly/varnish to seal it? SUPER cute idea!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Left it this way, a tiny bit lazy :)
Deletecool! :) i was just curious if adding a coat or two would work without messing it up.. i have kids and the first thing they would do it try to pull up the tape lol
DeleteGood point :)
DeleteI would think that the edges of the tape get all bent and sticky/dirty.
ReplyDeleteYou should post this on Ikea Hack if that is an Ikea table!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! :)
DeleteWhat ikea table is that? I love the thick look of it! And I just ordered the washing tape lol....gonna be a total copycat! This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLol WASHI tape....silly autocorrect lol.
DeleteIt's the LACK side table they've had for years.
DeleteGlad you like it!
