An Experiment in Simplicity - Part Two: Creating My Personal Uniform

• Serious decluttering.

No more "I have nothing to wear". Tips and tricks here.

• My Personal Uniform.

The Obvious one:
Skirt + Top or Blouse + Quirky Tights

The Easy one:
Dress + Statement Accessory

The Occasional one - aka The Boyish one:
Black Pants + Shirt + Bow Tie

Inspiration: Create Your Own Uniform by Mademoiselle Robot.

So far so good. Ever since I decluttered my closet and gave 'the personal uniform' some thought, I've found it much easier to pick out an outfit every morning. Who knows, it might be the solution to my chronic lack of imagination at 7am. Even though I was initially sceptical about the whole thing, I found out there's nothing wrong in systematizing your wardrobe. It doesn't mean you'll lose all spontaneity, it'll just make your life simpler. For the last week (and for the first time in months), I've had time to eat breakfast before I leave for work. Coincidence? I don't think so.

  3. i've bought all these clothes lately and all it does is make it harder to dress in the morning! i actually have to really think about it in the shower otherwise i'll just stand in front of my closet for ages!

  4. thinking about it, my problem is that I stick too much to the uniform - I always wear jeans, nice top, cardigan, flat shoes... perhaps I should aim for the opposite, not wearing the uniform :)

  5. I've sent you an email about this, Adeline! And you're so good for doing this. I wouldn't even know where to start to be honest. BTW, those harlequin tights are cute.

  7. Your top is crazy amounts of cute. Reminds me of a Tatty Devine necklace I have - you've inspired me to wear it tomorrow!
