Chloe In The Afternoon

Chloe In The Afternoon - St. Vincent

I can't believe I've never featured my favourite skirt here (I guess that only means I have too many). Here she is. She's a little sweetheart, half pink'ish, half coral'ish. I tried to find in the Pantone classification what those two colours are called... but I couldn't find anything close enough. As you all know by now, I have a thing for anything two-coloured. I bought her on a coldcold day back in January and ever since we've been best buddies.

Love, Life, Lace.

A few days ago Tatiana announced she was ending her blog: Love, Life, Lace. I don't know Tatiana personally, I've been following her blog for only a few months and I'll probably never meet her but still, she's a real inspiration. You may remember this post of hers about social media? I've also loved her bold use of colours ever since I was introduced to her blog by Ashley and she has definitely challenged me to be more creative with my own use of colours. Here are a few quotes I find inspiring.

Dear Tatiana, I'll miss you.

"I learned that popularity is not based on talent or content it's based on to what degree people find you unthreatening."

"Judging people's lives by their blogs is a wasteful activity and will leave you feeling empty and bitter. Use that time to judge your own life and make sure that you are moving towards your goals and dreams."

"I think with the emergence of social media, blogging especially, we've lost the art of enjoying something wonderful and beautiful without sharing it."

Caffeinated Consciousness

I can't remember how or when it started but Pantone® has been a obsession of mine for years. The brand is well know for its colour matching system but it has also become a hipster phenomenon and yes, Pantone cups are high on my wishlist. What can I say? It combines for my love for colours and my love for classification. (Did you know I'm also a Dewey Decimal Classification nerd?) Then comes this box in.  We found it in Paris and I just had to have it. It's pretty. It's useless. I love it. And I'm thinking of putting all 100 of these cards up on the wall of my bedroom. That would be a pretty sight to wake up to, don't you think?

Once Upon A Time, I Went To Iceland...

... and it was magic.

I wrote a short story about it and posted it on Laura's blog.
See you there?

A Photographic Diary: Laura

'Looking back, I think my love for photography began in the developing lab at college. Processing black & white films myself and watching the photos develop seemed so magical, it's the same feeling I get when taking a polaroid, I get so excited watching the image appear! Nowadays I take my camera everywhere and have a growing collection of cameras, including polaroids and various lomography ones, including my fisheye which I love! I really enjoy documenting moments from everyday life that seem special to me and I'm so glad I'll have a record of these things to look back on as I grow older.'

A self-portrait...

A Trivial Guide To Prettiness - Part Two

Hello lovelies! Here comes your daily fix of unicorns!

I thought I'd do a quick update of my trivial guide as I started using a few new products.

Remember how I said (wrote) I hadn't found the perfect lipstick yet? Well, I'm happy to say that - thanks to Tammy - I found the perfect one! It's easy to apply, it doesn't dry out my lips and the colours are gorgeous. Plus, there's a unicorn on it. See? Perfection.

Lush

First, this is what an average Lush store looks like (both in France and Norway and I assume everywhere else).

Funky, huh? Well, I'm not fourteen anylonger and this doesn't appeal to me. If it wasn't for Diana's and Liz's praises, I would never have set foot there. Messy and overwhelming. I don't like the product names either, they make it impossible for a newbie like me to find anything. Both sellers were very nice and helpful and following my motto "try everything at least once", I went out with three products.

And yes, I love each of them. I'm currently using Imperialis (moisturizer),  Angels on Bare Skin (cleanser) & Silky Underwear (I hate that name though, especially as I use it as a dry shampoo!). However, I'm still not sure whether I'll go back there once I've run empty...

• About Dry Shampoo

If, like me, you don't like spending hours styling your hair or you don't want to wash it too often, dry shampoo is your ally. It's a powder that absorbs impurities and oil on your hair and gives you another couple of days before you have to wash it. Love it.

Great tutorial about how to wash your brushes. Easy and cheap? Yes please.

Last but not least:

Seriously, the prettiest nail polish in the whole universe.

And that's it!
Now, if you have tips to share, I'd love to hear about them!
